Terms of Use (End User Licence Agreement)

Provider: DigiSmart Technology Ltd, company no. 13111564 (“we”, “us”).

By downloading or using the Life in the UK app (“the app”, “LITUK”) you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. Licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, for your own study, subject to these Terms and the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.

2. Subscriptions, free trial, billing & cancellation

• Premium features are offered as auto-renewable subscriptions (a monthly plan and a 3-month plan), which may begin with a free trial.
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. Unless cancelled, a subscription auto-renews at the then-current price, and a free trial automatically converts to a paid subscription, unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period/trial.
• You manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store account settings; deleting the app does not cancel it.
• Purchases, billing, and refunds are handled by Apple; refund requests are made to Apple. We do not process payments or issue refunds directly.
• We may change subscription prices; changes apply to future periods and are notified as required by Apple/law.

3. Intellectual property

All content in the app — including facts, questions, answer explanations, lessons, translations, and the compilation and arrangement of that content — is owned by DigiSmart Technology Ltd and protected by copyright and other laws. You may use it only for your personal study. You must not copy, extract, scrape, republish, redistribute, sell, or create derivative works from the content, nor reverse-engineer the app, in whole or in part. We employ measures to detect unauthorised copying, including inconspicuous fingerprint markers embedded in the content.

Content fingerprint (authorship record). The current LITUK content corpus — all questions, explanations, lessons and translations — is fingerprinted as SHA-256 7975ae8609f03e982b78e313e21533666ca7887430ea6ecb314a700fabf7725a, recorded 24 July 2026. This value is published here as a timestamped, tamper-evident record of authorship; any suspected copy can be matched against our private registry of the underlying works.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the app or attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorised access to it or our servers.

6. Disclaimer of warranties

The app is provided “as is” and “as available” to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that content is error-free or that the app will be uninterrupted. This clause does not affect your non-excludable statutory rights as a consumer.

7. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss arising from reliance on content or from exam outcomes. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud). Your statutory consumer rights are unaffected.

8. Termination

We may suspend or end your licence if you breach these Terms. Sections on intellectual property, disclaimers, and liability survive termination.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, without affecting mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.

10. Apple-required terms (Minimum Terms for App Store apps)

You acknowledge that:

• This EULA is between you and DigiSmart Technology Ltd only, not with Apple; we, not Apple, are solely responsible for the app and its content.
• Apple has no obligation to furnish any maintenance or support for the app.
• In the event of any failure of the app to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price (if any); to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation.
• Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party relating to the app (including product-liability, legal/regulatory, or consumer-protection claims).
• Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this EULA and may enforce it against you.
• You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as terrorist-supporting, and are not on any U.S. Government restricted-parties list.
